Palaweños who have to take safety training courses no longer have to fly to Metro Manila as consultancy firm Petrosphere Incorporated rolls down their monthly Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) and Construction Occupational Safety Health (COSH) courses in Puerto Princesa.
Engr. Harthwell Capistrano, Petrosphere’s President/CEO, said they are making the courses more affordable and accessible to help Palawan-based professionals acquire the DOLE-mandated training courses, which form the basic requisites to qualify as safety practitioners.
“We make these courses more affordable and accessible so that we could be able to help those who are based here to grab the opportunity to acquire mandatory DOLE certifications and for them to be accredited by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) as Safety Practitioners,” Capistrano said.
The BOSH and COSH courses are critical requirements for safety officers, as described in the Philippines’ Occupational Safety and Health Standards Rule 1030 also known as the “Training of Personnel in Occupational Safety and Health”. The OSH Standards Rule emphasized that companies, organizations, as well as contractors are required to have their supervisors or technical personnel, particularly, the safety officers, certified on these courses.
Petrosphere Inc., a training, review, and consultancy center licensed to conduct these DOLE-mandated safety training, is the only accredited Safety Training Organization (STO) in Palawan and MIMAROPA. Aside from BOSH and COSH, Petrosphere offers also advanced courses like SPA, LCM, including Accident Investigation, Security Training, among others.
