What is COSH Training?

Construction Occupational Safety and Health Training is a mandatory safety training program in the Philippines, designed for individuals working in the construction industry. It is required under DOLE Department Order No. 13, series of 1998 and RA 11058, ensuring compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS).

Certification and Compliance:

  • Conducted by DOLE-accredited Safety Training Organizations (STOs).
  • Required for DOLE compliance and workplace OSH certification.
  • Serves as a prerequisite for Safety Officer 3 and 4 training

Failure to comply with the Construction Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) Training requirement, as mandated under DOLE Department Order No. 13, series of 1998, Republic Act 11058, and DOLE Department Order No. 198, series of 2018, can result in significant penalties for employers and contractors.

Penalty for Non-Compliance:

Employers or contractors who fail to provide COSH training can face fines up to PHP 100,000 per day, work stoppage orders, and civil liabilities. Repeated violations risk blacklisting from future projects. Compliance with COSH training avoids penalties, safeguards workers, and ensures a safer construction site.

Can I use COSH certificate for CPD?

Definitely, yes. There are two ways to earn CPD points, it’s either through a self-directed learning or through a direct CPD points issued by PRC. Either way, you can make use of the points issued by the PRC with 40 hours COSH training duration.
