Building Safer Workplaces: 65 Trainees Complete BOSH for Safety Officer 1 Course

January 22, 2026 — Sixty-five participants successfully completed the 10-hour Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) Safety Officer 1 (SO1) Training on January 22, 2026. The program focused on building strong safety awareness and practical skills for the workplace.

Most of the participants came from Saint Louis University–Baguio. In total, 60 Industrial Engineering students joined the training as part of their preparation for future professional practice. Meanwhile, five participants were regular clients of Petrosphere, showing continued trust in the company’s training services.

The training covered essential OSH topics, including workplace hazard identification, risk assessment, and basic safety controls. As a result, participants gained a solid foundation in safety standards and compliance.

One participant shared, “The training was very informative and easy to understand. The real-life examples helped us see how safety principles are applied in actual workplaces.” Another participant added, “This training increased my confidence in identifying hazards and understanding the role of a Safety Officer. It’s a big help for our future careers.”

Moreover, the program supports national OSH requirements. Graduates of the BOSH SO1 Training qualify for roles as designated Safety Officers in various industries.

The training also brought together students and industry professionals, creating an engaging learning environment. According to a participant, “It was inspiring to learn alongside professionals and hear insights from actual industry experience. It motivated us to take workplace safety more seriously.”

Overall, the program strengthened participants’ commitment to promoting safer and healthier workplaces.
