Puerto Princesa City, Palawan — January 23, 2026 — Petrosphere Incorporated formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Society of Petroleum Engineers – Palawan State University Student Chapter (SPE- PSUSC), further strengthening their long-standing partnership in advancing student development, professional growth, and industry–academe collaboration.
The signing ceremony was led by Engr. Carmela Joice Padilla, representing Petrosphere Incorporated, together with the SPE Student Council headed by its Executive President, Mr. John Robert Laxa Belmonte, and the members of the SPE PSU Student Council.
For many years, Petrosphere Incorporated has consistently supported the Society of Petroleum Engineers and its various initiatives, particularly those aimed at student learning, leadership development, safety awareness, and exposure to real-world industry practices. This renewed agreement formalizes and reinforces that commitment through continued collaboration in training programs, seminars, technical activities, mentoring, and other capacity-building initiatives.
Reflecting on the partnership, Engr. Padilla highlighted the personal and professional significance of the collaboration.
“Petrosphere has been supporting SPE for many years, even back when I was still a college student and an SPE member myself,” Engr. Padilla said. “I experienced firsthand how Petrosphere supported our trainings and student-led activities. Now, coming back not just as a former member but as the Operations Manager of Petrosphere, it is very meaningful for me to continue and strengthen the same partnership we started years ago. We are hopeful that this year and in the years ahead, we can further support SPE in developing future engineers who are competent, safety-conscious, and industry-ready.”
The SPE Palawan State University Student Chapter also expressed appreciation for Petrosphere’s sustained support and commitment to student development.
“This partnership with Petrosphere Incorporated is very important to us as students,” said Mr. Belmonte. “Through their support, our members gain access to industry-relevant trainings, professional guidance, and real-world insights that go beyond what we learn in the classroom. We are grateful for Petrosphere’s continued trust in our organization and their commitment to helping shape future engineers.”
Through this partnership, both organizations reaffirm their shared goal of bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practice, while fostering a culture of professionalism, safety, and excellence among future engineers.
Petrosphere Incorporated recognizes the vital role of student organizations like SPE in shaping competent, ethical, and industry-ready professionals. The company remains committed to supporting educational institutions and student-led initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and workforce readiness in the energy and engineering sectors.
This MOA marks another milestone in the enduring relationship between Petrosphere Incorporated and the SPE Palawan State University Student Chapter—one rooted in collaboration, shared values, and a common vision of empowering the next generation of professionals.
