While coastal challenges continue to impact local shorelines, Petrosphere Incorporated took action on April 25, 2026—bringing together partners and volunteers for a meaningful day of environmental service at BM Beach, Brgy. San Pedro, Puerto Princesa City.
In collaboration with the Society of Petroleum Engineers – Palawan State University Student Chapter (SPE-PalawanSU-SC), the College of Engineering (COE) student government officers and members, the Palawan Daily News, the Philippine Navy Reservists, and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Puerto Princesa, the initiative became a powerful demonstration of unity across sectors, reinforcing the role of the academe in environmental responsibility.
As the morning unfolded, volunteers worked side by side along the shoreline, collecting marine debris and other solid waste. The activity not only improved the beach’s condition but also highlighted the growing need for collective action to address environmental concerns.
Guided by proper waste management practices, all collected materials were segregated to ensure responsible disposal.
More importantly, the initiative served as a platform to promote environmental awareness, encouraging individuals and organizations alike to take an active role in protecting coastal ecosystems.

Engr. Carmela Joice N. Padilla, CEO & President of Petrosphere Incorporated, shared:
“As CEO of Petrosphere, I would like to personally thank our partners for making our first coastal clean-up drive in Puerto Princesa City a success.
This is our first step in giving back and protecting our coastal environment—and we are committed to continuing this effort every two months in areas that need it most. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat.”
The President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers PSU-SC also emphasized the impact of the initiative:
“This initiative is a testament to how different sectors can come together for one shared purpose.
As future engineers, we must remain mindful of our environmental impact—because even small actions, when done together, create meaningful change.”

For Petrosphere, this effort reflects more than a one-day activity—it represents a continuing commitment to sustainability and community engagement. As a company grounded in safety, health, and environmental principles, Petrosphere recognizes that protecting the environment is essential to building safer, more resilient communities.
Through partnerships like this, Petrosphere strengthens its role not only as a training provider but also as an advocate for environmental stewardship—bridging private sector initiatives with public and academic collaboration.
Because at Petrosphere, responsibility goes beyond compliance—it extends to the communities and environments we serve.
