  • Mr. Mateo’s Testimonial on his BOSH SO2 Training Experience

“The 5-day BOSH SO2 online training has been fun and enjoyable. It covered DOLE’s requirements to become a Safety Officer 2, discussing relevant topics with practical application to Philippine workplaces and current regulations. The delivery of key topics was engaging, supported by excellent technical assistance.

The instructors are knowledgeable and experienced in Philippine OSH, which resulted in high-quality learning and effective assessment methods. As a trainee, one of the key insights I gained is the importance of a proactive approach to occupational safety and health. Our instructors emphasized that safety is not just about compliance—it is about cultivating a mindset that values prevention over reaction.

Throughout the training, I gained a deep appreciation for the legal foundations of occupational safety, particularly how DOLE establishes the duties of employers and employees. Overall, the instructors’ relatable approach made complex safety principles easier to understand and apply, making the learning experience both informative and enjoyable. Although the meeting is held online, everything for us is accessible and conducive to learning.

The materials provided were helpful in reinforcing what the instructors taught us during the training. There are also ice breakers, helping to keep us energized throughout the sessions. Overall, the logistical support contributed positively to my overall learning experience. I think it somehow influenced me in a way that my perspective and approach to professional practice heightened my awareness of workplace hazards and reinforced the importance of integrating safety into everyday operations. I now view safety as a shared accountability among all members of an organization, not just the designated safety officers.

The training encouraged me to be more proactive in identifying risks, applying appropriate control measures, and promoting a culture of safety in any kind of workplace. Professionally, I now feel more confident in conducting inspections, participating in risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health standards.

Petrosphere Incorporated remains committed to shaping future safety leaders by providing accessible, high-quality, and industry-aligned training programs. The success of students like Mr. Mateo John M. Agustin reflects the strength of Petrosphere’s partnership with Adamson University and reinforces the importance of continuing to build a culture of safety among the next generation of professionals.

Together, we continue to empower students, strengthen competencies, and promote a safer future for all.
